The Linden Grill

“𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙗𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙞𝙨 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙄 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬; 𝙞𝙩’𝙨 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙨𝙚𝙙 𝙤𝙣,” says Aniyah Mack with a warm, growing smile. “Linden Grill has always been a part of my life, and I’m looking forward to making this really great place even better.”

𝗔𝗻𝗶𝘆𝗮𝗵’𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗱. Her father, Alfonso Mack, grew up in South Bend and learned to cook in the kitchens of his mom and grandma. While attending college in Mississippi, he honed his skills by cooking for his college basketball teammates before returning to South Bend to open the first Linden Grill location on Linden Avenue in 2000.

“Well, I’m 25 now, so, yeah… I’ve been around the Linden Grill for as long as I can remember.” Even when she moved to Mississippi for college and obtained her degree in Information Technology, Aniyah was always thinking about how she could apply her learning to the family restaurant back home.

Now, as Alfonso transitions into retirement, Aniyah is increasingly involved in the daily management. Step by step, she’s implementing technological efficiencies and processes that she believes will enhance the Linden Grill experience even further.

“𝗜’𝗺 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸-𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘄. 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁, 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵. 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆, 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗱.That’s not just me saying it; they were voted the Best in South Bend by local residents because they’re just so good. Our burgers are great too, and our soul food on Sundays at the Western location? You’ve got to try it all… people really love our food.”

Don’t just take Aniyah’s word for it—stop by either Linden Grill location and taste for yourself. Their downtown home at 119 S Michigan and their 4333 W Western location are both open for lunch and dinner six days a week and are sure to make you a raving fan.
